Free Tooth Fairy Certificate Printable: How We Made Our Girl's First Lost Tooth Feel Like Pure Magic

There are certain childhood moments that seem small when you're living them, but somehow become the stories your kids remember forever.

The first lost tooth is one of those moments.

Maybe it's because it's one of the first signs that they're growing up. Maybe it's because there's still a little bit of magic in believing that a tiny fairy visits while everyone is asleep. Whatever it is, I knew I wanted to make that moment feel as special as possible for my girls.

If you've spent any time here at The Wessner Workshop, you probably know I have a hard time saying no to an opportunity to make an ordinary day feel extraordinary. I love celebrating milestones—big and small—and finding little ways to create memories that my girls will hopefully carry with them long after they've outgrown the Tooth Fairy.

The Night Everything Sparkled

When my oldest daughter lost her very first tooth, I immediately jumped into "project mode."

I wanted her to wake up believing that the Tooth Fairy had truly been there.

So I designed a personalized Tooth Fairy Certificate to commemorate the day. I also created a playful Tooth Receipt where the Tooth Fairy could evaluate the quality of the tooth (because of course there's a quality control department!).

Since it was her very first tooth, I added a special note indicating that the tooth had been returned to its owner for safekeeping—a keepsake she'd be able to hold onto forever.

But I wasn't done yet.

I tucked her tooth into a tiny bag filled with glitter and left a sparkling trail across her room as she made her magical visit. Since I didn't have any cash on hand, I had to raid my giant change jar and leave a handful of quarters instead. Honestly, I think she was even more excited about the shiny coins than she would have been with dollar bills!

The next morning? Pure magic.

The excitement on her face was worth every glitter-covered surface in the house.

A New Family Tradition

A few years later, when my younger daughter lost her first tooth, there was never any question about whether we'd do it again.

The expectations were high. The certificate came back out. The receipt returned. The glitter made another appearance. And once again, the Tooth Fairy delivered.

Watching her light up the same way her big sister had reminded me why I love creating these little traditions. They don't have to be elaborate or expensive. Sometimes it's the thoughtful details that become the memories our kids hold onto the longest.

Some traditions never go out of style! One of my girls received this classic tooth saver treasure chest after losing a tooth at school, and I couldn't believe they're still using them. I remember getting one when I was a kid, too!
